Location and depth that save money

A new house had a borehole to 90 m with no artesian water. A neighbour 100 m away had a 45 m well of good quality and yield. The crossing of veins was only about 30 m from the dry hole — and water at 45 m. Yield, quality and depth depend on place, not only on metres.

Artesian water can almost always be reached, sometimes at 120 m, but those holes often carry iron and other unwanted chemistry. We look for the crossing first.
